Nature and Human – 6

One of the routines of someone living in the city, especially in Turkey, is to spend more time with cats and dogs. For example, on my street, we have a loving cat, a dog who thinks itself as the protector of the street, and people who feed them almost every year. I took this photo while I was walking on the street. It, I don’t know its gender, is very lovely and little talkative cat. I share this photo, but she/he turned around itself and shared its day with me. “ Living in the city is something like this,” it said and turned to the other side. Then added, “but this is my corner because this is sunny here.” Then I continued my way by saying, “See you again.” Then I don’t know what it did, but I imagine that it was enjoying the sun more.

Nature and humans -4

I normally take photos for my nature and humans content. But this time I wanted to share the relationship between nature and humans as a drawing and asked myself the question “How can I draw? “. 🤓 I thought of drawing a building and an animal facing it. There had to be something that caught the animal’s attention too, something to eat! 🍴This is how the giraffe appeared, staring at an ivy-covered building. 🦒 How would you describe the relationship between nature and humans? 🌱

Harmony within balance and creativity

Today, the concepts of balance and creativity came to my mind at different times. At some point in the middle of the day, I realized that I used my creativity more than I thought about a subject without realizing it. At another point in the day, I saw the importance of balance in nature. 🌸

What kind of balance is this? 🤓

Before I started the article, the word harmony came to my mind, but what I actually mean is; finding your place in balance. 📍 Then my word changed again and became harmony in balance. ✨

We can observe many examples of this in the nature. For example, in the past years I have observed how a cormorant uses its wings to catch its prey under the sea. It understood the balance of the water and dived accordingly. I guess creativity comes into play at this point. Continuing from here, creativity can be using resources in the most possible way to achieve harmony. 🌱

Contrary to what is imagined, creativity can also be seen as something related to daily life. For example, making a meal different or discovering shortcuts while going somewhere can also be described as using your creativity. 🙃 With your permission, I would like to ask you a similar question; How do you use your creativity and become a part of the balance? ✨

Welcome 2023 🌱✨

I’m starting to write the first blog post of 2023! I wasn’t that excited when I was planning this post, but when I looked at the previous similar blog posts , that same feeling came back. As you can see in the post, there is a board. While reading , you can answer the questions that I will ask with paper and pen in any way you want, work on the same board, and/or you can place the answers by creating another board by designing it the way you like, similar to board I shared. 🤓 I used some symbols so that the questions and the board support each other, but as I wrote, you are in one of the best times to be creative. 🌟

📍 Why is the new year important?

The new year, especially the beginning of the year, is one of the most well-known times to set goals and focus on dreams. New chapters are forming in our lives, both chronologically and mentally. Of course, we may have other mile stones, but the subject of today’s post is the beginning of the year. ☺️

While determining your New Year’s goals, you can ask yourself the following questions and fill in your board. I wish you a happy new year again and I wish that the things on your board come true faster than you think. ✨🌱🌳

1. By focusing on which 6 goals/dreams will make 2023 as you want?✨

2. Other than the goals/wishes you have chosen, what would you like to accomplish as you enter 2024?🌟

2. What makes these 7 goals/dreams special from others?❤️

2. What keeps you on track in all circumstances while reaching these goals/dreams?🚲

3. What steps will you take to achieve these and when?💬

4. What will help you in taking these steps?

Creativity ✨

🌱

Creation

Creating

These words may be some of the most reflective of human nature. Even in the simplest way, it has a meaning. While cooking in our daily lives, we mix and cook more than one different ingredient. Or, while writing something, we draw/write something that is not there on the paper with the ink of the pen.

As you have read, creativity exists in some forms in every aspect of our lives. Even when we are not aware of it, we are surrounded by things we have created. Recently, I watched the “Creativity” episode of the “The Mind, Explained” documentary series on this very subject, and as a person who lives with drawings and colors, it inspired me a lot.

What is creativity according to the documentary?

Creativity isn’t as mystical and hard to find as we think, it’s a muscle. With practice, that muscle gets stronger and becomes part of our routine in a way that feels natural.

How to be creative?

As I just wrote, creativity gets stronger with practice. However, there is a very important question that helps the process here, “What if?”. If creativity is a formula, it is to combine things in different and new ways. This question also adds a sense of curiosity to the process.

You can see another creative point of view in improvisation. Improvisation performers increase their creativity with the “yes, and…” technique. With this technique, people listen to each other during improvisation, add their own thoughts, and a performance that is the common product of everyone is created. In other words, people work with each other in an environment that is open to communication and people don’t judge others.

The difference between creativity and imagination

Imagination is one of the starting points of creativity. Every creative person uses their imagination, but not every imaginative person can be creative. Focused imagination makes a person creative.

How to focus? What increases creativity?

First of all, keeping the sense of curiosity will start many things. Curiosity creates a field of exploration and, as a result, creativity. If I were to convert that into a shape as well, it would be a circle representing a loop. The more we explore, the more creative we become and strengthen this cycle. But it is also worth remembering that the creative process is not a straight up line. The important thing in this process is to stay determined and be joyous. Being determined moves you forward, while joy allows you to solve setbacks in the easiest way possible.

Apart from this, the technique we call sleeping on it is also very useful. To put it another way, it’s about letting things go according to flow and making more accurate observations. Sometimes this really means leaving it for the next day or other days, sometimes it can be daydreaming to hear yourself and see next possible steps better.

Finally, as I wrote above, focusing is one of the important ways to increase creativity. Curiosity and focus are one of the most important factors of the formula. If we don’t think about it and take steps, a thought that can fade. We have to work on it and define it. Of course, focusing methods can be a very personal thing. Therefore, ways that will make the creative journey enjoyable will always be useful. Accordingly, I would like to ask you one last question; What makes you joyous all the time?

Productivity

Hello,

Today, I will share with you few methods that you can use to be more productive and joyous in both your education and business life. Since we are at the beginning of autumn, when schools open and business life is the busiest, I thought it would be more beneficial to write about this topic. I also use some of them and see their reflections. But before I started the article, I did some more research and summarized them. You can find the methods in a list below;

1. Taking more visual notes by keeping the paper horizontal.

Tony Buzan explains that the human brain understands visual things easier. In fact, if there is an inclusive working method, this could definitely be one of them. It stays in mind more when you work on the subject by keeping the paper horizontal and dividing it into more shapes and words.

2. Setting alarm while workin/studying.

By setting an alarm you can set small goals for yourself and use the time more consciously. (1)

3. Take short walks /move if you are distracted.

Walking/moving in such times allows you to untie the knotted part of the rope easier since you change the place.(2)

4. Single (as much as needed) screen work.

Working with multiple screens means keeping distractions available. (3)

5. Focusing on things by one by one.

Working with one focus increases creativity. If you need to set an order, you can also sort your things in the order of priority. Thus, you use time more beneficially.(4) While doing this order, asking “Which one of these tasks is the best one to start and reach my goal?” to yourself may help.

6. Similar to the previous method, dividing your work into smaller goals and then adding on.

With this method, the goals will seem more achievable to you. (5)

7. Be kind to yourself when you make a mistake, knowing that you are human.

As a coach, this method seems to me to be the most applicable one. Success, perfection and similar things may differ from person to person. We can only work with what is within our control. That’s why we have to create our own paths that are open to other points of view. (6)

Authenticity is a feature that strengthens the person everywhere , including schools and working places.

8. In addition to the methods above, “What especially makes you feel productive while working / studying?” , ” What makes a thing prior in a list while working/studying? ” and “Which methods suit me best in the light of these?” answer your questions.

While working, solution-oriented open-ended questions both add benefit to your work and make your work routines more joyous. You can also add the of ” What makes working/studying fun?” To your list.

In fact, what I want to say above is that efficient note-taking and working methods are beneficial in countless areas of our lives. Maybe you know and apply these methods already. These methods will always assess you. Who doesn’t want to do more in less time?

Note: Although the source I use seems to be about business life, you can always use these methods whenever you find useful as I wrote above.
